Captain Bialar Crais of the Pleisar regiment was attempting to prevent an escape of several criminals (D'Argo, Rygel, Zhaan) in the also captured Leviathan (Moya). In their escape the prowler of his brother is destroyed by an unidentifiable ship. It is John Cricthon in his module, Farscape One. Crais so begins a relentless pursuit of his brother's killer.

After receiving report that John has been captured by Scorpius on a secret gammak base, Crais goes in order to attempt to retrieve John for himself after Scorpius has interrogated him. Plans go wrong as Moya gives birth to her warship leviathan whom Aeryn names Talyn. John has escaped back to Moya where she and her baby are hiding in a cluster of asteroids.

Rygel the 16th comes to the pursuing command carrier to strike a deal for his own safety. Instead, Crais coerces Rygel into taking him back with him to Moya after Sorpius has taken the command of the carrier from him. Once there, Crais boards Talyn who extends him a "hand of friendship", which is an interfacing conjoining with the ship.

In their ventures together Talyn proves to be a difficult craft, often paranoid and irrational which begins to deteriorate more and more over time. His trigger happy paranoia destroys a medical ship and nearly Moya until Crais at last shuts Talyn down. John has demised a plan to destroy the Pleisar command carrier rather than see Scorpius obtain wormhole knowledge. Both Crais and Aeryn are alarmed by this plan as the carrier hold entire families, many well known friends. There needs to be enough time for all on board to escape the demise. Crais interjects on John's plan only long enough to be allowed back on Talyn to wake him up again. Once there he commands Talyn to starburst inside the carrier, thus effectively destroying it with enough delay for an all hands evacuation. Crais and Talyn die in the process.
